A few weeks ago, ten of our members headed to Ronald McDonald House in Nedlands on a Sunday morning to cook breakfast for the families! We provided all of the breakfast food using our club funds. Luckily we had Richard, owner of Lincoln’s 102 Cafe in Highgate, to direct us! It was a lot of fun and we got to eat breakfast with the families.
Everyone was most impressed with club member Denis’ efforts, who cooked the scrambled eggs, despite never cooking at home!
We were taken on a tour of the house after we cleaned up – The facilities are amazing and there is a lovely welcoming feel. It is a nice space that needs to be a home away from home for many families, often for months at a time.
We all agreed it was a really enjoyable activity and we should do it a couple of times a year.
